Enjoying trends while keeping your own style
Identify what draws you to a look: colour, volume or an unexpected detail. Bring that inspiration into your own day.

Which part of the look do you love?
A saved photograph brings many elements together: lighting, hair, clothes, jewellery and setting. Imagining the same earrings with your own shirt may not create the same feeling. Break the inspiration into smaller parts. Are you drawn to the earrings themselves, or to the bright accent they create against a dark top?
Look through a few recent style saves and find one detail that appears repeatedly. It could be generous round shapes, small touches of colour or layered necklaces. Set aside the people and brands in the photographs for a moment. Describe the shared detail in one sentence to clarify what you want to try.
Try the idea in your own way
Suppose you enjoy layered necklaces, while your everyday choices are usually simple. Try two necklaces you already own with a top that gives each one room. You don’t need to reproduce every layer in the photograph. If movement is what interests you, a small experiment can help you explore that feeling.
Perhaps larger earrings catch your attention, but you still enjoy your familiar small hoops. Picture a more pronounced hoop shape alongside clothes you actually wear. Try a similar piece if you have one. Otherwise, save a short note and let the idea sit for a while. Enjoying an idea doesn’t create an obligation to buy it.
Does it belong in one of your days?
Think beyond the moment in front of the mirror. When would you wear this idea, and with what? Imagine it with three familiar garments, perhaps a shirt, a simple dress and knitwear. If none of those combinations appeals, you may simply enjoy looking at the original image. Keeping it on an inspiration board is a useful outcome, too.
After experimenting, record what you enjoyed, what you wanted to change and whether you would wear it again. Return to those notes a few weeks later. Recurring preferences will become easier to distinguish from passing excitement. Your style has room to develop through these small choices, at a pace that suits you.
